Kapa Haka

"So lets welcome on wainui beach school." We walked on to the stage. I was really nervous. "Whakapiri" called our kia. We all walked together. "Eta ri ke toru wha." called our kia. Our first song was eta ri ke.  as soon as we started singing all the nerves went away. In Eta ri ke our voices were really high and good. Once we had finished everybody started clapping like mad. Neke Atu called our kia. We all spread out again.

"Utina toru wha". In utina the boys move forward and the girls move back because the song after utina is the haka. Soon we had finished utina. It was time for the haka ! "Taringa whakarongo titiro mai ke ow."  Yelled our kia. The first haka we sang was the wainui haka. The. In the wainui haka the floor was making so much noise It sounded like an elephant was walking all over it.  The next haka we sang was the kamate kamate haka. Once the kamatia kamatia haka was done we sang rona e. In rona e the girls move forward again.

It was time for our final song wainui e. when wainui e was finished all the boys walked off the stage. Then the girls sang it 1 more time but while they were singing it they were moving off stage 1 line at a time. Soon we were all of the stage. It had  been such a fun kapa haka day bye.

Farm visit

The doors of Hayley's van shut with a Bang! We set off along the windy country road. Soon we were at Kori's farm. We got out of the van with our bags and walked up the stairs of the barn. When we got into the barn Kori's dad started to talk about the farm. After he had  finished talking about the farm he said that we could go see the lambs. Yes! I said to myself.

We rushed out of the barn.We ran in the direction that we thought the barn was. Then for some reason everyone was yelling at us.We couldn't quite hear what they were saying. We ran a bit closer to them and then discovered that they were shouting, " You're going the wrong way!" We ran down to where they were. Soon we were at the sheep shed. We climbed over the gate where all the lambs were.It was very crowded in there. I waked over to a lamb and picked it up. It was very soft and fluffy.

We ran back to the shed. We walked up the stairs and into the barn. Kories dad asked us how it was we all said great!
